This has to be about the best Neal/Diana story I've ever read. Not that I've read one before. But! Every future Neal/Diana story will subconsciously be compared to this one, so yeah :D

Aw, thanks so much. The rubber ball thing is based on a real story a friend's mom told me years ago. and I love writing these two together so much, I think you will have a few more Neal/Diana stories to look forward to.

Very sweet story - I can see a bright future for Neal, Diana, and Grace. Hope you consider continuing this - wonder what Diana will do when Moz and Neal start teaching little Grace cons or how to forge paintings!

I definitely will continue this. I have this image of them getting married a few years down the line, and little Grace in a flower girl's dress.

While I don't think Grace's daddy and Uncle Moz will teach her cons, I don't think Moz is above using her in a con, and Neal will be so, so mad.

Wonderful and fun and sweet and just plain awesome.

However, because Diana is also Grace's parent she would have equal parental rights and therefore, little Grace is not a ward of the state just because Neal is. So no need for a little anklet for her. LOL She's a free soul.

LOL - baby anklet would be kinda cute! I said that because I wonder if they'd allow Neal to keep her in his home or not (and no realize I need to re-word it. LOL- thanks!)? I mean, I suppose Diana and he could co-habitate, but I don't think they're at that stage in their relationship yet.

The state must have an overwhelming compelling reason to remove a child from a parent and the mere fact that the parent is on parole or on work release would not necessarily be sufficient to take the child from Neal. Even prisoners have parental rights and in some jurisdictions even rapists have parental rights to the child born of that rape (isn't that scary

Thanks so much for this information! Now I can rest easy, lol. Funny that I'm worried about the reality of that end of the situation when I just had a MAN GIVE BIRTH, eh? But for me, even though this is crack, it's got its own rules, so I'm relieved that's the case. Knowing me, it would sit between me and writing any timestamps, because it would bother me. And even though you don't know the law specific to this in NY, what you said is reasonable and good enough for me. I mean, i'm not THAT anal.
