Stupid Sandy.

*grumbles*

Things that did NOT happen:

2. All of my trees are still intact.
3. My power, however is not. Also: apparently you need electricity to fire up my furnace? Who knew? (hint: not me) They tell me it'll be on by midnight tonight. I am neither cautious nor optimistic. Because? The ( Read more... )

I'm relieved to see your post and to learn that you're undamaged. I hope your power is back quickly.

We've had some power outages from the edge of Sandy here in the Detroit area, but nothing worse. I'm hoping the repair work is done quickly so the crews can be sent east to help with restoring power where the need is greatest.

How did Lolcat Henri cope with being in the middle of a storm like that?

The hit and miss nature of power outages (and returns) is a truly maddening thing. Had a hurricane pass over us when I lived in Durham, NC, and though it wasn't as crazy as there being power 100 feet away, there was the same sort of this block yes, that block no sort of deal. Bah.

I am very glad that your house and trees are okay and that you were able to travel safely to your sister's.

How are the animals doing? I know Harper was not very happy about the bad weather.

Also, icon Neal is wearing his hoodie in case there's still some rain when he comes to help you out around the house. :-)

Icon!Neal is going to have to wear less clothes to help me out around the house...

Thanks for the note! Harper's OK, it's Truman that's just all kinds of manic. We're in a hotel at the moment - no power until tomorrow.
