I'm glad you thought so. I think she couldn't stand it for a second if he felt just the tiniest bit bad for her. SHe would be givig away too much or something.

Wonderful piece. I loved the insight into Alex's past. And this: She’ll never tell him, because he’ll understand. And she can’t have that. so well describes her relationship with Neal, always keeping the mystery. Well done. :D
