Irish Soda Bread

This is my version of my friend's Irish Grandma's recipe. When I make it, I actually will make it into 4 smaller loaves (one is just right for two peeps), and bake for 30-40 minutes. Freeze the rest - it makes SUCH a great addition to your breakfast table all year 'round - not just with your corned beef and cabbage!

Question - shouldn't the butter be cold? Won't room temp butter melt in the foodpro?

(I watch too much America's Test Kitchen and The Food Network).

The butter won't melt, since you're only processing it 5-7 times, and it's in with the flour. You could use cold butter since you ARE using the FP, though. Room temp butter works better if you're cutting it in by hand, tho.

Hmmm...was it not clear that the flour's in the FP too? Must go edit...

My cooking skills only extend to following directions on a box. I just came here from your fic featuring this recipe, and I was with Peter on the whole "what does 'cutting in butter' even mean?!" thing.

Still, sounds good. :)
