German Musical translations

... because there really, really, really ought to be more of these.

Around... six months ago, I guess it is now, I started translating Rudolf - Affaire Mayerling into English and subtitled it onto the original DVD shot.  I have been very casual with distributing it to anyone interested (there are a lot of interested people)... and more than once ( Read more... )

There is a Tanz with subtitles and I think it might even be on youtube.
It's the Hamburg Proshot from November 2005 (Cast: Kevin Tarte, Jessica Kessler, Max Niemeyer, Stefan Poslovski) The subtitles aren't an exact translation and the video is lower quality compared to the non-subbed proshot but at least it is subtitled.

I'm practically done with translating Dracula in Graz. (Just have a few more dialogue scenes and two songs to do.) So if you want, I can send you what I have and you can fill in some of the blanks. =)

I thought there was a Tanz out there, but I'm not sure if they actually translated each song, or they just subbed the English versions? I'll go take a look.

I would absolutely LOVE to see your Graz translations. Are you planning on timing the subs to the video as well? (I can help with that, if you would like.)

It would be awsome if you translated those musicals! Honestly, I haven't had a chance to download your subtitled version of Rudolf yet, but I reaaaally want to! I'm also not real sure how I make the parts work.

First of all, THANK YOU so much for doing this! Talk about a labor of love. ^_^

Hopefully this isn't presumptuous of me, but I would LOVE a copy of Rudolf translated. *_* Any chance of that? ^_^

SWEET! Thank you! ^_^

Just a quick question... I've never seen an .srt file extension before... Is it a new kind of zip or vob?

ETA: Oh, wait. I get it. Heh. Silly me. Now I guess I just have to find the video files... ^_^ ...any ideas?

OK. I think I found a place to buy the DVD, but before I do... pointers for how to add the subtitle files? (Sorry to bug you -- this is my first attempt at .srt files. -.-;;;)

Hey! I know I wasn't the one who requested for the subtitle files, but I hope that you don't mind that I downloaded them, since I've been looking for subs for a while, ever since I first saw several subbed vids of Rudolf on youtube >.<
Thank you for so much for them, and for still being willing to distribute them even after four years have passed since the initial release of the DVD!
