Wannabe Pinup
hello girls. I've been a member for a long while now, but I've been extremely bad and havent posted in ages. And though I check in pretty often, all you girls are just getting prettier and prettier with every post (and all of you have done pro shoots) so I feel like I have to re-apply. oh and the application is different and thought I'd give you girls something to read :)
So please treat it like a new application :)
* Name: Stephanie
* Age: 20
* Location: Sydney, Australia
* Height: 5 ft 3 last time I checked and converted it from the metric system haha.
* Measurements: not sure..
* Who is your favorite pinup, and why?: As boring as it sounds, I like Bettie Page for her subversive photos, but I've never had one particular pin up, but I do love all the minxes of pulp art.
* What PinUp decade do you think you represent?: 1950s.
* 3 words that describe your personality: loyal, joker, easy-going.
* 3 words that describe your appearance: playful, sassy (haha I love that word)and... cardigan.. because i'm almost always wearing one!
* Your Hobbies: dancing (rock n roll/jive, rockabilly jive and swing- Lindy hop, East Coast and I'm going to try my hand at Balboa. I'm just a really keen dancer!), making zines, writing, collecting (party dresses, aprons and post cards in particular), eating out.. god, i love food.
* What/who got you interested in Pin Up culture?: I guess, it's just part of the whole retro-revival/neo-nostalgia as an interest. The pinups of the past defined femininity for that decade and when you're a girl and into vintage, both traditional and modern pinups are an
endless source of inspiration and motivation.
* Do you consider yourself PinUp material? Why?: Yes. Although I have never actually been photographed in the pin up style professionally, I love flashing a smile and just 'being' pin up as I walk into a room. You don't have to be dressed to kill, but if you walk into a room the way you think a Petty or Vargas girl would, you'll always turn heads for all the right reasons.
* Do you get compliments from complete strangers? What do they say the most?: I don't get many direct compliments, but sometimes I get the door opened for me or seats given up for me and I get girls asking me how to do this or that and they give me a few tips too. I always feel good when I get to talk about girly things with girls. Sometimes I miss entire band sets talking to a girl in the bathroom about lipstick application haha.
* What is your must-have accessory or piece of clothing?: ah! I can't decide. Every accessory or piece of clothing plays an important role in how anyone looks overall. I will say though, a flower or ribbon in the hair really makes the day that little bit more awesome.
* Favorite beauty trick: dolly pegs to do rolls and curls. I have dolly pegs EVERYWHERE. almost one in every purse, some in my bedroom, some in the bathroom. haha.
* Who were you referred by?: no one. I've been in this community for a long time.
