I should note that I actually thought the DIstillers were pretty good, and inasmuch as I can enjoy something like the Spinnerette song, I do.

I guess the Spinnerette song is ok. I just really like the Distillers, not so much Spinnerette.

I suppose it could have just been a timing issue, that her music has changed over the years, and not necessarily an "influenced by her partner" issue.

but oh boy, I hope that it's NOT that she was influenced by her partner. That just makes me sad for all the people in the world who don't have their own tastes and become sidekicks to their partners! (although being INTRODUCED to something you've never heard/done and expanding your appreciations/etc is different, of course)

Random observation: the restaurant in the Distillers video is Clifton's Cafeteria on South Broadway in downtown L.A. They serve amazing pie.
