I like it when things I love become more widely known, or commercialized as some might say. People will think I'm less weird, and I can be "oh i was into that before it was cool". At the same time not being the kind of nerd who gets offended when hot topic starts selling it. It's just something i like. My personality isn't defined by the material objects that I possess.

Trekkies are up in arms that there is a big budget, Hollywood Star Trek movie coming out, and that somehow means that their fandom isn't special anymore. I've seen these people, they're special enough.

It's still the same. Though I find it ironic that some GI Joe fans are bitching that its been commercialized. Wow, a TV show and Comic that was designed to sell toys, has been commercialized! Wow!

A kid who shops at my store with his dad and brother roughly every week, who can't be more than seven or eight, bought a Rorschach action figure from me on Saturday. "He's my favourite Watchman!", he proudly proclaimed. I asked his dad if he was going to try to take him to the R-rated movie, and he replied, "No, that's a few years away." Makes sense, I thought. Then he added, "He's read the book, though".

Huh?

Sadly , I resigned myself to the very same thing. Everything is destined to become mainstream and
commercial it seems, even things that were deep " underground".I still remember the good old days
though.......... retain the wonder at something unique and new.
