Do you know that they now have digital tombstones?

It's true. They carry video and sound. Visitors can plug headphones into a port and listen.

They are powered through solar batteries.

I know!

I think the best part was how I heard it announced on the radio. as "the hot new thing among funeral home directors" and making a big fuss at all the conventions.

And I was thrown as I considered just how mindboggling boring such conventions must be, and that, even though I'd never heard of one before, I really kind of wanted to go to one now.

Not for me.

*poot*

Tomorrow, though!

(Even if I have to go all by my lonesome. That's better than going with people who might hate and/or mock it.)

I have no real life science fiction fan friends living near. It is very very, very very sad.

I think the very concept of "a Western in space" would give my mom hives.

She doesn't like detective stories, westerns, musicals, science fiction, horror, sophomoric comedy, slashers, most foreign films, dark comedy, sensuality, occult, or extreme violance or language.

Picking out a video is a nightmare. (I agree with her on some of those categories, but cutting out the first four, REALLY limits your options.)
