Heh, yeah.

...To be fair, at that point, we'd been working on this thing off-and-on for the last 36 hours or so.

When O-Y Sis sent the note to Momma I think she just was a little punchy from trying to get it all done correctly and was like "Oh - and we need to do this, too ... can you take care of that?" not really thinking.

I pointed out exactly what you said, Sis wrote up an answer, and I polished it off, just like we'd been doing.

...Voila!

It just amused/nonplussed me that I had to point out the oddity of the request at all.

yeah, I would have sent that back with a "sure, as soon as she writes something for me to edit."

Pretty much what I did. And they were like, "...Oh. ...right."

Nah!

(After all, we'd been working off-and-on on the whole thing for most of the last 36 hours, and, I really *do* enjoy helping people out like this.)

It just amused/befuddled me that I had to point out that one canNOT edit without content TO edit.

Wow, that's a lot to ask. So, what did you do?

(My BIL just sent me and my husband a math thing to do for him, and I don't know what he wants from us: do it? Give hints? Show him where to find answers?)

Pretty much what daynr said above, pointed out that I was more than happy to edit ... if I was actually given something *to* edit.

Just funny/headscratching to me that I had to point that out.

(Ah! Yes, you get where I'm coming from with the family/friends befuddling "Here! Can you help me? Fix this!" scenario!)

Maybe you could have sent back the word with proper capitalization and fewer question marks.

Heh. I like the way you think.
