I’m a season or two behind, but Tami is the type of woman I’d like to be/know.

A wife and mother, she loves and supports her husband/children, but is so much more than that. While she is gorgeous and charismatic and always seems to know the right thing to say, she’s not without her flaws and mistakes. Her house even looks realistically messy, with laundry baskets and other signs of life!

She is sympathetic, passionate, educated, intelligent, and not only makes her voice heard but teaches her daughter and other young girls to do the same.

Lisa was my role model growing up. She's smart and unafraid to show it. She plays the sax, an instrument usually associated with guys. She's sassy and one just knows she is going to grow up into a woman to be reckoned with.

See, someone I would NEVER thought of adding, but who clearly deserves to be recognized!

When someone says “positive, real-world, female role models” this is one of the first characters I think of. On most procedurals she’d just be “the hot chick partner” (and the network has tried to push that in S2) but instead, the fact that she’s a 5’2” woman, - and also incredibly hot, - has almost no bearing on the character.

Okay, so she’s a recovering alcoholic, and has some issues in her personal life, but she’s also an excellent detective, beat a cocaine addiction, and is acknowledged by criminals, cops, and civilians, as far scarier than her 6’4” ex-con partner.

Bonus role model points: she comes from a multi-ethnic heritage and it’s addressed (when it ever comes up at all) in a subtle, non-cliché manner.

I agree that S1 Dani is a very cool woman, it's sad that S2 Dani is a little watered down.

She speaks seven languages, is an accomplished undercover agent, cooks, plays air guitar, knows multiple martial arts, and can kill you fifteen ways with a paperclip. Growing up in Israel as the daughter of the director of Mossad, was no picnic, but she doesn’t angst over it. Uniquely feminine AND deadly, she has a wicked sense of humor and loves to pull practical jokes. Eats with a healthy appetite, but also keeps kosher, without making a big deal about it.
