A wife and mother, she loves and supports her husband/children, but is so much more than that. While she is gorgeous and charismatic and always seems to know the right thing to say, she’s not without her flaws and mistakes. Her house even looks realistically messy, with laundry baskets and other signs of life!
She is sympathetic, passionate, educated, intelligent, and not only makes her voice heard but teaches her daughter and other young girls to do the same.

Okay, so she’s a recovering alcoholic, and has some issues in her personal life, but she’s also an excellent detective, beat a cocaine addiction, and is acknowledged by criminals, cops, and civilians, as far scarier than her 6’4” ex-con partner.
Bonus role model points: she comes from a multi-ethnic heritage and it’s addressed (when it ever comes up at all) in a subtle, non-cliché manner.
