Daily Intake = BORING

Among other things, I’ve recently discovered that I apparently have a salicylate sensitivity. It’s not a food allergy, but a pharmaceutical reaction to those chemicals in food and other items ( Read more... )

I'd be so sad without spices. I hope that after 2 months you can go back in small doses.

Oh me too!

I am having to season everything with one of the following:
a) plain sea salt
b) cheese/sour cream
c) maple syrup/honey

Fortunately I do like the taste of a lot of food just on it's own, but, yeah. I'm really looking forward to being able to eat things again.

Yeah, in a lot of ways it's like an anti-healthy list. Salicylates are most concentrated in dark and bright colored fruits and vegetables and in the skins. Which is of course where the vitamins and nutrients are also concentrated.

Fortunately, it's not like it's life-threatening or anything, this is just to cure a lot of irritations and discomforts.

Aww, that's sucky! But it's also really cool that you figured out what it was after all this time! I've never heard of that before. I hope it works out to be on this diet and you can get back to the yum of life in a couple months. A couple months is nothing if it'll mean itchlessness for the rest of your life! You can do it!

I'd never heard of it either, but with my sister and several friends being glutan intolerant, I was aware of other reactionary states out there then straight up "food allergy"

For some reason, this week has gotten exceptionally bad on the "Want. Tasty. Food. Now!" side of things. (I would *KILL* for a big glass of fruit juice .. oooh! Or a pizza! Hawaiian or maybe Supreme!)

So I'm experiementing.

And eating lots of Breyer's ice cream. I can have that. It's all natural!
