R&S is back!

When seminal electronic label R&S folded, I lamented the downward spiral of electronic music. I don't mean in talent or sound, but in popularity. The music was bursting out of its niche in the nineties. I don't buy his reason for closing the label. Derrick May still has an album locked up in contract hell with R&S, which I doubt was anything close to stale.

What do you think the real reason is? Do you think it involved royalties or something else?

On the punk side of things, Berkeley's Lookout! Records was notorious for being behind in paying royalties.

Royalties or some other mismanagement. Plenty of other labels and distros have gone under even at the height of their popularity
