Quinoa.... the interesting thing about it is it's texture. It's a bit rubbery when chewed, which I guess might make kids like it. We did it in two variations: One was Garlic and Onion and the other was Lemon. Garlic and onion is steaming garlic and lemon in a bit of oil before adding the quinoa with water. And lemon was adding lots of lemon-juice (squuze lemon or use the cooking juice of the unsweetened variety) as part of the liquids. Both come out pretty good. The truth is I think you can do with quinoa pretty much anything you can do with rice. So I think we'll try something more Indian sometime. Usually we stir-fry a lot so maybe next time we'll udo it over quinoa or couscous instead of rice.
I hate lemon juice in food... I picked up a tip about Quinoa online - if you wash it in running water for 2-4 minutes, before cooking, it won't have that weird soapy taste afterwards.
