D'awwwww... such a wonderful story. And it's so incredibly canon-compliant, it's now my official part of the Neal/Sara story, heee :D

I think what I love most about it is how Sara is slowly realizing that her current life and relationship is not what she wants. The dreams about Neal, them keeping in touch via emails, being drawn to each other despite both of them trying to go on with their lives and make the best out of it - it all feels so real and so them :D

And OMG, how I adore the ending, the image of disheveled Neal covered in paint, actually painting - GUH! Ahh, they will finally have their happily ever after :D

Aww, thank you! :) Sara's too smart to end up with a bad guy, but it made sense to me that, after Neal, she'd try safe and boring. And then realize that safe and boring are totally wrong for her.

Also, Neal should always be painting somewhere in any fic. Always. :D

I always see Neal and Sara's relationship as one that seems frothy on the surface-all banter and fun-but with serious passion beneath. It's a bit hard to capture that light-and-breezy attitude in a fic where the characters are hardly ever face to face, but I'm reassured that it kind of worked!

You know how much I love this fic. I love how you capture Neal and Sara a little playful in the beginning, and how devastated he was near the end. The 'unmade bed' line always gets me. No need to further show how upset he was beyond a simple word 'painfully' and a distracted, unkempt appearance. Because that says it all for a guy like Neal.

But what worked so well beyond that, was how Sara grew to realize that she needed more than safe and reliable. I could go on and on about how well matched Neal and Sara are... but you've heard it all. ;-) It was beautiful and I loved it!

I absolutely adore this! The whole situation felt very realistic and right for the characters, and Neal's proposal at the end was gorgeous, perfect.
