Right. That time you told me to tell my friend that Pink Floyd was a much better band with Syd Barrett, I nearly got my head ripped off...

I always figured you'd wind up riding a giant tricycle, but if you can get a bicycle that works (they don't make tricycles with such nice gearing), so much the better!

If you can find a level route there, I highly recommend the Bay Trail between the Berkeley marina and the Emeryville marina. Just gorgeous, level, and neither crowded nor deserted.

I've been nudging ze spouse to get a bike (he's been borrowing mine) and a kid carrier, maybe for his approaching birthday. Haven't been on a bike in 3 years now, what with the pregnancy and then progeny. I miss bike riding!

Well, I may yet end up with a huge trike, but I figured that I may as well try starting out with a big-boy bike. The difficulty, you see, will lie in actually learning to ride the thing. However, we've at least established that I should be theoretically capable. After all, as the shop owner said, my problem is orthopedic, not vestibular or balance related.

You know, you remind me of the very oblique way you insinuated that you were pregnant to me a month or two before you let the news out for general consumption. But to answer the point you raise, yes, Ze Spouse should definitely get a bike so that you can all go riding.

And thank you for reminding me of said impending birthday. I always forget. I'm baad.

I'm with KidE on the Pink Floyd quote. And yes, PF was a better band with Syd. (I hope I wasn't the friend who almost ripped your head off.)

That's great about the bike riding!!!
