Skinned knees and runny noses

Clara had been playing when her legs had decided to give out. So she was in a heap with a frustrated look on her face. She didn't like to see her knees were bloodied up. She hates crying too so she runs a hand over her face and reaches up to the table she ended up next to and tries to pull herself up so she can go get cleaned up ( Read more... )

Wanted or no, mothers have a way of knowing when they are needed. Seeing Clara's difficulties, and the signs of skinned knees, Sasha kneels beside her daughter with an expression that manages to hold sympathy without pity. "What troubles you, dear?"

"It's my legs," Clara admits. Mothers always know when something is wrong. She isn't going to pout but there are tears in her eyes. "I was playing and they just... gave out. Like I got hit in the hins. They started hurting really bad and I fell."

"Oh, my darling," Sasha croons, stroking Clara's cheek before carefully enfolding her in a hug. "Let's get you cleaned up, shall we? Do your legs still hurt?"

Clara's small arms go around Sasha. She is happy to have one of her mothers here now. Before she hadn't been happy. Her legs do still hurt just not as badly as before.

"Yes Mom. They hurt. Just not as badly."
