I had to stop reading for a moment at "outlawing atheism". I just... wow.
What if I am the one with the skewed perspective? Even though I may joke about it, does replacing "Merry Saturnalia!" with a more traditional "Merry Christmas!" bother me just a little?
To me, either "Saturnalia" to "Christmas" will end up excluding some people. I prefer "Saturnalia" obviously, but that's because I am in on the joke. I may very well feel differently if I am not... So from that point of view, I can see why "Christmas" may be preferable.
I half-suspect she was testing me. Also, since everything was in /tell, perhaps she felt she could say outrageous stuff and not having to worry about it. Then again, she does joke about gulags and such on the LS quite a bit, so who knows.
Eventually I realized she wouldn't really say such things outside of /tell, so all is well.
