Because so often we don't know if our online friends have died or simply moved to other platforms, I wanted to let people know that Bart_Calender, after a series of complications with strokes, has passed away. He was a dear and integral part of my Livejournal experience for nearly two decades, and then on FB and I just............I'll miss him. I'm ( Read more... )

Read you...
It didn't pass me by that he went like missing here on the platform, and of course that makes one wonder what happened to that person.
Well... Sad to hear the certainty that he is gone...
Do you know when? And how old he was?

He was early 50's, I want to say 54. We don't know exactly when, his long time partner called in a wellness check and he was found dead in his apartment. He hadn't been doing so well lately, but I guess we didn't realize how badly. His partner let us know today. I hope he hadn't been gone for too long. ANd yeah, just so many people stop posting and you wonder. You always wonder.

Hm... I also thought like he wasn't that old... In his 50s at best, if you got to see a timely photo of him as he was still active. Not exactly an age to die in (but one where everything and nothing can happen at any time)...
It's always a shame - the worst war criminals seem like immortal (even the devil doesn't want them), and other people who just lived a life but didn't aim for world domination and loads of money they can't take with them into the grave, those don't even make it to old age...
What can I say... Life isn't fair.

He had a stroke, maybe more than one, or complications. At his age thats enough to take you out, especially if your health isnt great to start. No judgement, he lived how he wanted and kind of made the image of "drunken writer" his thing.

Over the years that I have been writing daily in LJ I often wonder what has happened to people when they stop posting. I have been writing Here since March 2001. Most people have disappeared from LJ that use to write. It takes discipline to write daily not only in LJ but a daily paper diary. Anyway people come and go. Sorry to read about your friend going into the Eternal State. Remember his soul lives on.

Hope you are feeling better these days.

I don't post here very often...as I'd rather flood your FB page with memes :p But seriously, even though I only knew Bart through your friends list, I'm sorry to hear that he has passed on.
