Oh! Oh my god. So wonderful. I LOVE Paul/Brian, especially Paul/Brian done like THIS. The teasing, the questions, the way Paul gets off on this letter, on Brian baring his soul to him, is just so incredibly intense. And I can see this happening. I'm almost sure it did, to some extent. I mean, there was that rumor about the love letter from Brian in Paul's glovebox, but more than that, I can imagine Paul subtly flirting with Brian for years, excusing it as "harmless" and only a bit of fun, never realising that he was making Brian fall in love with him until it was too late. It's painfully possible

Oh wow, I'm glad you like this! Paul/Brian isn't a pairing I expected to write but when I got that prompt for kink_bingo it just seemed perfect.

Well, the subtle flirting was something Peter Ames Carlin wrote about in his bio of Paul, so that's where that all came from. I'm not sure what Brian thought in return (I don't know how good a source Schwartz is) but it makes sense on Paul's end, to an extent. Like about John and how Paul sees the trip to Barcelona as a power play, that sort of thing. It makes sense he would have done stuff on his own end. They're both super ambitious that way.
And I'm glad you liked how I wrote the letter. I have to admit I was a bit insecure about getting Brian's voice. :)
I don't know if I'll be writing any more Paul/Brian but I'll certainly be writing more fic. Thank you so much!
Well more fic from you is good no matter what it is! :)
And yes, I wouldn't trust the Schwartz girl much at all, though it is certainly an interesting story. I sometimes wonder if the way you describe Paul and Brian's relationship here might also be the way Paul and John's relationship was. Can't you imagine John faaling for Paul because Paul does all these little flirty things that maybe he's not even that consciously aware he's doing until it's gone too far? I sometimes think that happened...
