It’s all about the toolbox.

If you don’t have the right tool, you are not going be able to get the job done in an efficient manner. It will certainly take more effort, and may damage whatever you are trying to fix.

But if all you have is a hammer to start with, you will eventually see everything as a nail and think about using the hammer first

This was a very literal take on the prompt. Maybe try using next week’s as more of a jumping off point, rather than just trying to explain it?

Was I a bit too subtle? I was trying to convey the fact that I think this principle and its prevalence is a good hunk is what is wrong with our society right now...

Community would be a good place to start. We are broken, that's for sure. We will need a lot of tools to heal ourselves.

You are right, I think, in saying that people work best as a community wherein everyone can contribute their own skills. It's how we manage in my family, and it's made is closer to one another.
