I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions anymore. I would stick to it thru January if I am lucky. I used to tie myself to this artificial timetable yearly, and spend time at the end of the year castigating myself for once again abandoning the same goals.
Lose Weight (and every year, the number I needed to lose went up).

I would say that you did really well at this the first time around, too, but then tragedy came along and knocked you for a loop. I think most people would have had much the same problem, with that amount of emotional stress.
