Ooh, that's brutal. And erm, good. You write great AUs! Poor Mitani--you've described the dead-end path he's been taking perfectly.

...thanks, I think?

I know, I was so mean to him, but you should have read the first version of this. Now that was brutal (and completely melodramatic).

Glad you enjoyed. This is set probably right before the Young Lions tournament chapter in BB; he quit soccer last January, but it really didn't come to a head until the new year.

Poor Mitani...yet at the same point in time I totally see this happening had Hikaru/Sai not stepped in when they did to get him to stop cheating. You feel sorry for him, because you know he'll lead a lonely life...but at the same time I kind of don't because he brought it on himself. Then again, he's still young...

XD

Yeah. I likes this :O)

I think you covered my feelings on Mitani exactly. He was redeemable, but he just... really asked for it.

Glad you liked.

He kind of does. Mitani is ultimately a selfish character, and even in main canon of the series he doesn't really get all that better even after Hikaru/Sai step in. He stops cheating yes...but the steps towards gaining friends seem timid and tiny at best.

And somewhat unwilling.

Honestly? He's just very awkward socially.

i can so see that happened to Mitani's life in this AU, since there are no Sai/Hikaru to drag him to the Go club. Nice... ^^
