You updated!! *happy!* It's interesting how Hikaru's so different just because he never met Akira earlier. I like him serious like this. ^^

They'd bought it to help him with his school work, but Akira had quickly found Go-related uses for it. Kouyo approved of that.

Haha, the Touya men are such Go-dorks. XDD Love to them.

Please write more soon~!

I think they have go on the brain! I think Kouyo would only see a use in a technology that relates to go!

Am working on the next part!

Thanks for commenting.

Wow... what can I say? I think I enjoyed this chapter even more than I enjoyed the last one. I'm really enjoying how the story is going and old as it sounds, I'm really looking forward to reading more XDXDXD!! I really like the last bit with the mother (is Mitsuko really her name?) and how she sees Hikaru through is changes and time with Sai. You've also hinted and pieced together the relationship of Hikaru and Sai without actually mentioning Sai. I love it!

As far as I'm aware, I used the correct names for the Shindou family, as listed at madamada's character list project.

I'm glad you caught the hints of Mitsuko's perception of the relationship. It was fun to think about.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Wonderful as always ^___^ I really liked how Shindou didn't throw the game just so Honda could win, even if it did mean that his friend forfeited in tears ^^;; His philosophy was sound *nods*

<3 <3 <3

Now I just have to watch the series that I'm already addicted to as the result of lovely fanfiction like this XD

I'm not sure if he made the right decision or not, but it's telling about Hikaru's difference in character. I think canon Hikaru would probably put a HUGE mental handicap on himself, and play like that.

watch it, or the manga is just as good!

That's a very good point- from what I've heard I could see him mentally assigning himself a stone handicap, some sort of wall he would have to overcome in order to win. I think he'd enjoy the game just as much if not more that way ^___^

I have the first 48 episodes sitting on my counter, burning holes in it right this moment ^^

I think he might, if this was canon. BB Hikaru is more concerned about results.

Start watching!

I have such a dorky grin on my face right now and it's entirely your fault, Aishuu. I don't care that this is chapter 7 and there's not even really a hint of shonen ai so far. This is excellent writing, a superb AU, and I honestly think I could adore this the most of any Hikago fic I've ever read even if it never progressed *to* having shonen ai. I love Hikago so much that this retelling... you strike all the right chords with it. It's nice to have this chapter done from a family point of view. I've been rereading Hikago over the last few days and I'm seeing little bits and pieces that I know had to have inspired parts of this fic and it just makes me smile so much ( ... )

I encourage dorkiness. I've had a couple people complain about the shonen ai thing (and a few threats about me screwing it up if I TAKE it shonen ai like I plan) but I believe the set up is neccessary. I plan on taking it that way, but it won't be for a while yet.

This is definately the family end - the contrast and similarities between the Touya and Shindou families.

I tend not to be of the "everyone is gay" school of writing. I see Waya as straight. I think their lack of closeness is interesting.

I haven't seen Sliding Doors.

The set up is *vital* in this story. Without it, there is no basis for the relationship. I really can't even see any discussion of a relationship for a while yet... but that's okay.

I hate the "everyone is gay" school of writing except in parody. And even then it's sometimes taken too far. I can see Waya with possibilities. ^_^

Sliding Doors is an interesting movie. Gwyneth Paltrow with a British accent is somehow always more interesting than with an American one. It's one that, were it feasible, I would do a fic version of for... maybe Prince of Tennis. It's a movie that examines the difference that one small, relatively insignificant thing might make in one's life.

Right, not for a while. I think we tend to forget that the Hikago series spends two YEARS building up to the first official match between the two.

I think parody for it is fine... I know I've done it.

I'll try to find that movie... sometime. Why not try a Tenipuri fic?
