I like the style and repetitation of (noun) (verb) and in this case, the use of the word 'knew' twice. It gives a nice emphasis and flow. And then the last sentence being a different setup really gave it that oomph to set it off as a revelation.

Oh, that's just a lovely setiment! {huggles on Killua} At first, I really did like Kurapika the most, but then Killua snuck in and stole my heart so quickly! And I think it really was his disbelief and slow realization that Gon (and to a lesser extent, Leorio) really was...well, for *real*... {grins} Killua's and Gon's relationship is so beautiful boyishly innocent, they're just begging to be slashed {sighs}
