Whee!
I am happy to read another Itachi Hokage installment.
And how exciting to fit team 7 in now. the dynamics are going
to be different, yet similar.
Thanks for continuing!

Thank you! I couldn't throw all of Team 7 out the window - I'm thinking it's more interesting to see the similarities.

I love the changes in this meeting. From him being on time and Sasuke's reaction to him and his brother's interference with him being raised an Uchiha. Having this all from Sakura's point of view was also especially interesting. :)

Thank you! Sakura was the only POV option, because the others have a much better idea of what is going on (even Naruto!).

Thanks, chere! Sakura was the only option, IMHO, because I don't want to tip the hand too much on who Sasuke is.

Fascinating. Kakashi is on time; I think that is a sign of the apocalypse. Naruto is as oblivious as ever, never having paid attention to the background of either his "rival" for the Hokage position or his classmate. The hints about tension in Sasuke's family are very interesting, especially because Sasuke is closed off enough (and Sakura is missing all the backstory) that I can't really tell exactly what he thinks of Itachi, though it's clear both he and his family strongly disapprove of Kakashi having a Sharingan eye, probably both on general principles (what's in the clan should stay in the clan) and because Kakashi is so clearly loyal to their opposite faction.

Sakura is definitely an interesting choice to use as POV for this section, because she's exactly the same as in canon only she's been thrown into a rather different roil of tensions. And wow, this is a slap in the face reminder of how much she's grown since she was twelve.

*squees* I'm always so happy with your comments because you always seem to get my intentions perfectly.

You're not supposed to know about Sasuke yet. I have his voice firmly in my head, but part of the suspense of this story is figuring out how he fits into the picture. I think people will be surprised. I don't think it's any big reveal to say your perceptions on the Uchiha Clan and Kakashi are very accurate, though.

Sakura as an unreliable narrator was really the only way I could do this story - but ye gods, she's annoying at twelve. I am so glad you were struck by her growth, because she really does come a long, long way in canon. The way she'll come in this verse, though... remains to be seen (if I get to do what I want with her at the moment, it'll be excellent, but it depends on how the bigger plot points shake out).

Here's hoping the bigger plot points give Sakura room to shine! :-) I take it Sasuke's POV section will be the last one of all?

Nope - Sasuke won't be last (unless something really changes). I just want him later because it's so much more interesting to leave it unsettled for now.

Itachi-verse! How I missed you so! <333333

I like how you were able to work out the formation of Team 7 and Kakashi being there almost immediately after the team assignment has been given out. I also liked how oblivious Sakura is to the tension between the brothers and the general mysteriousness of who their new teacher is.

Thanks! I have to force time to write nowadays... ye gods, life if busy.

I like the idea of Team 7 being just a bit different, but on the surface the same. What really matters is what is going on in their heads... I will say Sasuke is a different person than his canon incarnation, although he may not appear to be so on first glance.
