Hahahaha~! I love this so much! It is so very Naruto and so very Itachi. I liked you having Iruka as his teammate and Rin as their sensei... it tied in well.

They try so hard, and they have such good intentions, and I have a horrible feeling it's all going to fall apart, albeit differently from canon ( ... )

This is the first hint we have of what Sasuke is like in this verse, but don't read too much into it. As for it falling apart, I haven't decided on how this series ends. I have a couple more perspective characters I want to get in before I commit. Now that Sasuke is in the picture, I'm hearing Sakura...

Itachi is supposed to be a pacifist, and I think he ended up subscribing to using an offensive defense. I don't think anyone really gets that - though Danzou may realize Itachi's kind, he doesn't get what it really means for Itachi as a shinobi.

The fact that Naruto gets the better of the ANBU regularly should make someone question what his test results mean. Personally, I think it's ADHD.

This is pre-Mizuki Iruka, who is looking at Naruto as a disaster waiting to happen. He might pat him on the head and tell him he can be anything, but in his head he's got serious doubts.
