I adore this! The politics, Hinata's intelligence and her quiet strength (that she seems unaware of), Tsunade's matter-of-fact acceptance of Hinata (though she wasn't looking for an apprentice), the casual reference to either Hinata or Hanabi ending up sealed eventually, the way you work in mentions of Kakashi's chapter in this story... *happy sigh* I love when you post new pieces of this 'verse.

My one criticism would be that while overall you have Hinata's POV down very well, this sentence at the beginning feels more like an omniscient authorial insert than Hinata's own phrasing: It's not that Hinata dislikes tea, since she is incapable of hating anything (except herself).

Very interesting that Hinata is now Tsunade's protegee. It's a cool idea; Hinata was born with more than Sakura. Curious to see how a Hinata under Tsunade would turn out.

Ack, have had this bookmarked for a few days. I can't believe I didn't get to it sooner, because HINATA <3 I dislike 99% of fanon Hinatas, but I really liked your take on her here.

The politics. Oh, just delicious. Thank you for addressing Tsunade's ties with and possible old loyalties to the Senju...I don't often see it touched upon in fic. There's also something rather wonderful about the intense political considerations going on here considering that Itachi's motives (peacekeeping) are really very simple. Your Itachi in this 'verse also reminds me strongly of the first Hokage, which makes Tsunade's machinations with Hiashi even MORE fascinating given her connection to that particular figure and the corresponding epoch in Konoha's history.

Also! (ramble, ramble) Tsunade has a BRAIN here, and I love it! Most fanon Tsunade are strong, badass, quick-tempered--but not smart. Yet she had to have at least a little diplomatic savvy to be Hokage, and you didn't shortchange that at all here

I read them all in one go and this work is totally amazing! ^o^ It's a great idea you developed in this universe and I love the characterizations and the new perspectives for some characters, like Mikoto for example :3 I'm really excited to read more about this series <3 ^^
