It's amazing how you've managed to balance humour and intensity in this fic--incorporating the droll observations of the "shinobu evaluator" with the discussion of Sasuke's psyche, and managing work in details about Tsunade, Team Seven, Kakashi and Naruto's ramen habit. Really good stuff here. My deepest appreciation for something so enjoyable. ^_^

Thank you! I'm always pleased when I hear you like something I'm trying, because you're so honest. ^_~

I think the thing that keeps me reading Naruto manga is that it works on several levels - there's the slapstick, but there's also some really dark undercurrents (face it, training kids as ninjas is kinda questionable to start with). I'm glad this manages to catch a bit of that dichotomy.

Ah, this was really different, but I really enjoyed it. Kind of amusing, but at the same time, and interesting insight into an aspect of the Naruto-verse which you expect must exist but never see.

I kind of feel that I must now go read some of this 'Saki-verse'. The seperation and how you handled it was fascinating, especially at the end when she pulls 'Saki' down with her. Great read.

I think Naruto is a really scary manga if you start thinking on, because it's about training kids to be killers. Fandom kind of forgets that most of the time...

I hope you like the Saki-verse. There's fics of all kinds of tones, which I find fascinating.

So yeah, I'm rereading the Chunnin exam, this time I was mostly skimming it for the Rock Lee and Gaara bits, I didn't think he was that awesome then (first time around, the only thing I noticed was Ino and Sakura, who remain awesome, except that they weren't together that much in Part II ;_;), and, with the knowledge of All That Came Later...I have to wonder if Mandara might be right. Think about what the ninja villages are so vocal about defending, the ninja way of life, which includes training children to be killers, and holding mini-warfares twice a year where gennins are expected to die.

...ahh, how did I miss the first part to this?! *goes to read*

♥!! For some reason, I really liked the line:
She tilted her head, biting her lower lip as she thought on that. "Is he dangerous?"

*wonders why that line pinged you so strongly*

Glad you enjoyed this!
