And how Jonghyun always looked past him to stare at Onew and vice versa. People always find it hard to see something so close to them, dismissing it as habit or nothing out of the ordinary. And while three of the members of SHINee try to make the two oldest see just that, Dong Bang Shin Ki lends a hand.

Author’s Notes: Most of the ideas in this story were conceived with
skyfever at two in the morning of November 05, just when we were about to sleep. The Dong Bang Shin Ki part of this story is a condensed part of what
skyfever and I talked about-mostly because I can’t remember most of the conversation; my memory fails just like that-but it has the spirit of the crackyness of the conversation. xD
The video Taemin will be talking about in the story is the Mnet Wide Interview the boys had last 081031.
keight_michelle requested for a story based on the song Too Lost In You by Sugababes and the first pair that popped in my mind was BlingDubu. :D
Dedication: To my wonderful friend,
keight_michelle, may you have a wonderful birthday. Thank you for everything-every crack and serious conversation over YM, every happy text message, every moment we’ve been friends. You’ve been a source of wackiness in this insane world. xD I love you. <3
(And thank you,
skyfever for the crazy title. xD)
Disclaimer: None of the Dong Bang Shin Ki and SHINee boys are mine. Only the plot is. The quote is from JBS Haldane.

Admittance Beyond Understanding is a God-like Ability
“I suppose the process of acceptance will pass through the usual four stages:
(i) This is worthless nonsense;
In Onew’s opinion, Taemin has gone insane. He’s been listening to their magnae ramble for the past hour about everything and anything under the sun. How the noona-deul never took him seriously enough, how they still think that he’s cute despite the change in image. How Key kept nagging him, forgetting that he was fifteen and not ten. How Minho should stop keeping his voice to himself because he has a nice voice and that it was a waste of talent if he kept on hiding it. And how Jonghyun always looked past him to stare at Onew and vice versa.
The leader blinked. “What did you say?”
Taemin rolled his eyes. “It’s no use denying it, hyung. I see you do it every chance you get.”
He looked at the youngest, raising an eyebrow as an inquiry. Taemin sighed and pulled him over to the computer. “I have it all on video,” he said and Onew fought an urge to call Key for some help because clearly-Taemin opened a folder and he wondered why he had no idea that it even existed when the five of them share one computer-their little one has gone mad.
“See here, hyung,” Taemin called his attention to a video they shot just a few days ago. He watched and Taemin pointed out random moments in the course of the interview but saw nothing strange about it. “It’s just natural,” he countered when Taemin tried to defend his stand. “I’m the leader and you know how Jonghyun ah sometimes gets too excited that his lips move too fast for the management’s liking. So he looks at me for confirmation if what he’s saying is good for TV.”
Taemin looked at him, frustrated. “Hyung. Please.”
Onew smiled and Taemin knew that this was the end of the conversation. The older one was giving him the leader-smile. Whatever he had been saying the past hour had been classified as nonsense. He sighed and patted Onew as he left the leader to watch the video again. Hopefully, Taemin thought, this time Onew would see what he should be seeing.
“Maybe you need glasses, hyung.”
(ii) This is an interesting, but perverse, point of view;
“They’re doing it again!” Jaejoong exclaimed, flailing in front of the television.
Yunho looked up from his laptop to look, wondering what made his best friend strung up all of a sudden. The last time he looked, Jaejoong had been sleeping. “Why, what’s the matter, Jae?” he asked. “Them! They’re doing it!” Yoochun scribbled on the music sheet in front of him, pausing to look at the older one. “Who’s doing what?” Jaejoong pointed at the at the television screen, looking back at the rest of Dong Bang Shin Ki. “Them! Jonghyun and Onew! They’re doing the JaeSu thing!”
“The JaeSu thing?” Junsu asked, blinking.
“Ah. The JaeSu thing,” Changmin said, nodding.
“The JaeSu thing,” Yunho repeated, waiting for Jaejoong to expound. “Singing? They’re having a duet?” Changmin stopped Jaejoong from strangling their leader; there was no need for bloodshed, after all. “Do they sound like they’re singing, Yunho yah? Do they?” Yunho smiled sheepishly; there was no music coming from the television-only the voices of his dongsaeng-deul, talking. It was, apparently an interview. “The JaeSu thing, hyung. Remember when Jaejoong hyung and Junsu kept on staring at each other? It was just like all foreplay and no actual sex.” Yoochun laughed. “Yah, Changmin. What do you call it again?”
“Eye sex,” Changmin answered, grin growing wider by the second. “But didn’t you already outgrow that, Junsu hyung?” Junsu put his arm around Jaejoong, calming the older one down in an instant. “Yeah, we did. We’ve gotten closer in the past year, na hyung?” Jaejoong was supposed to grin but the image of Jonghyun and Onew was still in his head. He smiled at Junsu absently. “Yeah.”
“Eye sex,” Yunho repeated-(“Yunho hyung has this habit of repeating what we said,” Changmin whispered over to Yoochun; the latter chuckled.)-thoughtfully, looking at Jaejoong and Junsu. It was true, he thought; those two had that condition going on for years and it was only recently that it stopped. He would have to ignore Changmin’s inappropriate name-giving, though; Jaejoong seemed serious about it. And if there was one thing he knew about Jaejoong, it was that Jaejoong wouldn’t stop until he thought something was already solved.
“So, Jonghyun and Onew are doing it, too?”
Jaejoong sighed. “Far too many times. I thought they’d outgrown it-” Changmin doubled over with laughter; Yoochun fell from his seat. “-but with Yunhanam finished, it seems like they’re back to the eye sex.” Yunho rolled his eyes. “Can we call it something else?” Yoochun gasped for air. “JaeSu sangtae,” Junsu offered, earning a whack from Changmin. “What? I was trying to help!” Jaejoong shushed them all; “Guys, this is serious,” he said, hitting Changmin hard; the stupid boy already resembled that Yahoo Messenger emoticon and Jaejoong had no time for smileys.
“As their hyung, it is my duty to do something about this.”
Yunho reached for his mobile phone as Jaejoong strangled the younger ones. If Jaejoong was serious about this, the repercussions of whatever Jaejoong had planned were going to be serious, too. He needed to secure SHINee’s apartment before it was too late.
(iii) This is true, but quite unimportant;
“You like him.”
Jonghyun looked up from the puzzle he’s been trying to put together for the past three hours. “Excuse me?” he asked, unsure if he heard Key right. The latter was lying down on his bunk, chin cradled in his hands. “You like him,” Key repeated, this time clearer. Jonghyun blinked. “What? Who do I like?” Minho, who was quietly re-reading The Little Prince on his bed, flipped a page. “Onew hyung,” he answered before Key could say anything else.
The lead singer stared at both of them. “I like Onew hyung?” Key nodded, grinning; Minho hummed. “And the proof?” Key rolled his eyes. “You’re on his bed,” he pointed out. “When you can do that puzzle on the living room or on your own bed.” Jonghyun put a finger on his chin, eyes back on the puzzle in front of him. True, he could be somewhere else but Onew and their manager were in the kitchen, currently discussing their schedule and he didn’t like hearing business when he’s supposed to be relaxing. Plus, Taemin was studying-sometimes he doubted if it was really research, all that stuff he did on the computer-and he didn’t want to distract the magnae. “I don’t want to go up to my bed. Preference, Kibum.”
“You stare at him too long,” Minho said in his quiet voice; Jonghyun wondered how Minho could read and talk at the same time. “So?” The tallest member sighed and closed his book. “Hyung, you have this particular smile when you look at him. It’s like you’re mesmerized or something.” Jonghyun raised an eyebrow. So he’s been staring at Onew. There was no reason why he shouldn’t, he thought; Onew was charming and his smile was pleasant to the eyes. Looking at their leader made him feel at ease and his smile made Jonghyun’s nervousness fade away.
Jonghyun shrugged. “What’s not to stare at?
Key’s eyes widened. “You-hyung, you understand what you’ve just implied, right?”
“Yes,” he answered, giving up on the puzzle. He put it away-on Taemin’s bed-for awhile. He will get back to it later when Key and Minho stopped making his business theirs. Jonghyun saw Key looking at Minho for something, anything; he has conceded quickly, he thought with a smug grin. He could bet his life that neither Key nor Minho anticipated as much.
“I like Jinki hyung,” he told them, falling on Onew’s stuffed-pig. “But so what?”
Key fought the urge to strangle his best friend. What did Jonghyun mean by so what? If he liked Onew then he should very well do something about it. There should be honesty in a group, he remembered Leeteuk telling them, and for Jonghyun not to say anything about it-“I don’t get it. You’re not going to tell Onew hyung?” he asked. Jonghyun looked up at him and smiled. Minho sighed and went back to reading, understanding why Jonghyun chose to shut his mouth for the first time since they’ve met.
“Let it rest, Kibum,” he told the other. “Jonghyun hyung knows what he’s doing.”
At least, Minho thought as he sneaked a glance at Jonghyun, that’s what he hoped.
(iv) I always said so.”
There was nothing strange about having three of their members abducted by Junsu, nothing weird about having Jaejoong have a talk with them. What was exactly out of ordinary was that Jaejoong had left them with four boxes of pizza and a tube of lubricant. A tube of lubricant-new and strawberry flavored. No, Onew thought; it wasn’t weird. It was downright insane. First Taemin, now this?
“Jaejoong hyung told us to stop imitating him and Junsu hyung,” Onew said, trying to make sense of the situation. “So, do we stop having duets?” Honestly, Onew had hoped never to have said that; Jonghyun’s face had immediately fallen and he hated being the reason for the loss of that smile. “I don’t think Jaejoong hyung was pertaining to that,” Jonghyun said, a small smile appearing on his face. “We don’t use lubricants for singing don’t we?”
Onew’s face reddened.
A big grin appeared on Jaejoong’s face as he flipped his mobile phone close. “I think we won’t see much of the eye-” Yunho and Key glared at him. “-JaeSu sangtae from now on,” he said, kicking Changmin’s leg under the table. “It’s safe to say that you will have a peaceful and happy environment, dongsaeng-deul,” he chirped happily, ignoring a choking Yoochun.
“So they’re finally getting together?” Taemin asked, doe eyes, wide. Silence fell upon everyone in the room. Apparently, Taemin had known all along. And they were all made to believe that he was innocent. What a fool he was, Jaejoong thought as he shook his head, a smile spreading across his face; he should’ve known that the magnae image would only last for so long.
He put his arms around Taemin, enveloping him in a tight hug. “Our dear Taemin ah is growing up so fast,” he said, ruffling the younger one’s hair. Yoochun started laughing again, Changmin was proudly shook Taemin’s hand. Yunho had his head on the table, waving a white flag. Key was torn between lamenting the loss of Taemin’s innocence-“My son, my son!”-and celebrating the success of Jaejoong’s plans.
Minho leaned towards Junsu, grinning. “I told you Taemin knows. Pay up, hyung.”
