Author’s Notes: Finally, the fourth installment to our expanding project. This time, we cater to the second cast’s very own Tezuka x Fuji, Shirota x Aiba. I was too distracted yesterday (stress from RL and NRL) that writing this became harder than I think it should have been. But all in all, this is project has become quite a challenge, ne?
Dedication: To
nikihiiragizawa, because I love you much.
Disclaimers: All the people used in the story below are real and have their own lives. Whatever is written below is just a figment of my imagination and/or my own life. Only the plot is mine.

Magic Tricks
They meet in the most unfashionable way possible-bumping into each other. Literally.
Aiba gets mad; he starts mumbling about how blind the other person must be but then stops when he sees who the other person is. His mouth hangs open for about two seconds, then-Shirota-san!
Shirota grins widely-Why hello, Aiba-chan!-and waves at him. The Fuji actor shakes his head and tells him that there is no need there is no need to wave; they are already in front of each other. Aiba’s reasoning makes the older one laugh and he waves again, just to tease the younger one.
But Aiba knows better than to get pissed off. He rolls his eyes.
Really, Shirota-san.
It is always like this, Shirota thinks. He does something utterly childish and/or stupid and laughs about it while the other gets pissed off or rolls his eyes. And it’s just fine with him. In a world of constant change, everyone needs something constant in his life.
Funny, he thinks to himself. Aiba is his constant, ne?
I guess this is destiny, ne, Shirota says as they board the train. He lets Aiba go in first and the latter glares at him before muttering something about Western manners and not being a girl. To which, of course, Shirota laughs even more.
More like a coincidence, Aiba counters. I’m on my way to Setomaru’s and your place is just on the way.
Seto’s?
Yeah.
Crashing into someone’s place again, huh.
Aiba laughs. Just like in the old days, ne?
And this is where it starts, Shirota muses as Aiba begins reminiscing the days of the second Seigaku cast. The latter talks and talks, so much so that his story branches out to the new Dream Live 4th, how Katoh and Saitoh won’t be there much to his dismay. How his new drama with Nagayama and other TeniMyu people is making him nervous; how his life is moving, career going forward to faster than he expects.
Aiba’s hands are gesturing wildly - uncharacteristic much, yes. His face is showing more expressions than he thinks could be possible. His eyes sparkling with every word he utters.
And Shirota knows. He knows he could get used to this.
Again.
Aiba pauses-Am I boring you?
Shirota shakes his head-Go on-and the younger one starts speaking again. He watches every detail in Aiba’s animated expressions and lively voice, taking them in and recording it in his mind. The world around them is starting to vanish and he doesn’t exactly mind.
He smiles. Quite a lot softer than he intends to but Aiba doesn’t notice. It’s alright.
He could get used to this again.
The magic that Aiba brings in his life.
The illusion of them.
