You already have a great foundation for an awesome patio. I love the rouned paver base. I'm wanting to lay pavers outside of my dining room and make a cottage like garden surrounding it, but I'll have to wait on the $s for the pavers. I planted most of my garden with the moon gardening technique. I'm really wanting some overgrown herbs mixed around it too. I'm enjoying the flowers on the chives.
As far as the wasps are concerned. I try to do everything I can as green as possible, but when it comes to those puppies we zap them with the spray. If you find a way, let me know.

yea I know, sometimes you just have do what ya gotta do. At least trying to find an eco freindly alternative is a good start. But if all else fails..
