We were talking about that during 6th period. (well...open 6th, along with other people with open 6ths) What's worse, the fact that the mother called the cops, or the fact that the cops actually arrested him and the fact that he's ACTUALLY going to court? Jeez.
Well shouldn't it rather be this, instead of something more serious? The kid does have a bit of a history. Apparently, "he has shoplifted, stolen money from her, punched a police officer and is nearing expulsion from school. Now, the petty larceny isn't a big deal, but I'd be concerned with assaulting a police officer and whatever he's doing to risk expulsion. I don't care any more than you do that he opened an X-mas present early, but in this case, if it provides a legal opportunity to give the kid a wake-up call before he gets himself in real trouble...I might consider it. Maybe.
