Here's my yearly poll for books I read in 2012. This was a bad year in general and not a good year for reading. I was busy, I was tired, I wrote a lot and I didn't enjoy a lot of what I read, either, so that accounts for the meager list of titles. Some of the books are anthologies and some are bigger than others. (Our Mutual Friend, for example.) I

I didn't find much in common with other readers this year, for whatever reason. Part of me wonders if it's because there was no "book everyone has read" this year. I feel like the hugely popular book of 2012 was 50 Shades and a lot of people (myself included) just weren't having that shit.

It could just be there's not as many people on LJ, too.

The polls I saw seemed to skew towards fantasy and romance, which are Not Really My Genres, I guess. And way too much Cassie Claire.

Oh yeah, there was a lot of the Mortal Instruments trilogy, wasn't there? I guess it's that movie. (I haven't even watched the trailer, lol.)

Yeah, idk, I figure there must be fantasy (and sci-fi) stuff I would enjoy that I'm missing but ehh ... in all fairness, I have too many books and need to get done with some.
