2008 wrap-up

I’ve abandoned resolutions altogether.  There are certain things that I wanted to accomplish before the year started; I still want to accomplish them.  I don’t see the wisdom in attaching some weighty meaning to a mildly uncommon chronological event.

The new year is good for one thing, though, and that’s the unavoidable “best of” lists that

Resolutions are often promised as the result of failure. I've abandoned them.

I always look forward to your academic tone; it keeps me on my toes.

Yeah, maybe 2009 will be better.
