I started buying Starbuck's coffee when they had only ONE store in Bellevue, Washington. I was in Seattle on business, staying at the five-star Alexis Hotel, where I had breakfast. After one sip of coffee, I asked the waiter where I could buy some. I spent $30 on a cab ride to Bellevue for a pound of the coffee. Returning to Atlanta with that pound of coffee, I created a monster. My husband got on the phone an ordered five pounds. From that day on, he refused to drink anything else.

While I chuckle at their "wine cooler" offerings, I still think their coffee is the best I've ever tasted -- and I compare that to Jamaican Blue Mountain, Kona, and the offerings of Coffee People, Peets, and you-name-it. The extra-bold ones, specifically Sumatra and Gold Coast, are my favorites.

Still, I order only "tall with room" and add cream and Splenda.

I can't help myself. I really cannot.

But I TOTALLY respect your choice. You always follow your conscience. I like that.

Hey now, I'll still enjoy the coffee. I just refuse to continue to bastardize the stuff to the point of being unrecognizable. That's all ;)

Since you've left they raised their prices 9 cents and put a new frap on the menu. The blueberry white frappucino is the alternate to the new blueberry white tea. It's disgusting. Because I work there and I see so many terrible frappucinos and (Insert modifiers here) coffees go out, I will only drink straight coffee, occasionally a shot or two of espresso, or the tea. I'm kind of disgusted by what people drink and how unhealthy it is for them. As for the green tea frap's, if people knew what the matcha smelt like before we generously blended it into their drink, they wouldn't drink it!

See, I kind of dig the macha stuff. It smells like alfalfa. Growin' up on a farm, you acquire a fondness for such things.

I think it smells like fish, but not the good kind of fish.
