Shane, let's start off by this division between "true" and "false" advertising. I'm not entirely clear what the difference is. Clearing that up would get the ball rolling and ensure that we're not talking past each other.
Do I think you're an elistist? Not necessarily. My larger point here is that elitism is simply not possible in the postmodern world. Nothing more, nothing less. And it really was less of a diatribe against you than it was a diatribe against hipster culture in general, or proto-hipsters, or whatever you'd like to call it. You may not sneer, but if you don't think some of your friends, associates, and fellow bloggers aren't sneering, I think you're kind of deluded.
Also, if you could clarify in a sentence or two what, precisely, you were trying to say with the article, then I'd like to see that, too. Again, just so we're not talking past each other. I honestly thought that I understood the article, but it's entirely possible that I did not.
