I just finished up watching Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth.  I was torn between feeling disgusted at the human race at large, disturbed by our inability to change things, and--ultimately--a little bit pissed off.  I went to the official website of the movie after viewing the film, curious to see what they advised you do.  Unusually enough, one of ( Read more... )

It's funny, but the entire "it's not a big deal, we survived a meteor" thing was dealt with by Gore. I'm not saying that I buy into the hype surrounding global warming. I think it's something that we need to be aware of, but we don't need to be reading doomsday scenarios from it. Gore disagrees and, as such, probably shouldn't eat meat.

Grass grows in Antarctica for the first time in 10,000 years.Global Warming is real, and human activity is determined to be the cause of it.
This human activity includes the way food - from steak to potatoes - are processed & marketed.

Understood and pretty much agreed.

However, the meat industry is easily the biggest perpetrator of carbon emissions, by a long shot. Calorie-for-calorie, meat is a massive waste of energy.

So, I feel like the worst person in the world. I cheated on Frankie. It was definitely the worst decision I've made so far in my life, but it got me out of a bad situation that I was tired of being in. I still love him, but I really think I just needed a break. No, I know that I needed a break.
