The road not taken

This all began roughly 4.5 years ago. I had just finished up high school and had taken those obvious steps: ACT, college apps, etc. I landed a scholarship at the University of New Mexico that pretty much ensured me a full ride, found a good job at a national laboratory, and moved out the day after I graduated ( Read more... )

The yellow brick road is magnetic. Do what feels right; you'll have a good life.

I, too, passed up law school for a Master's Degree. I've never been sorry. Travel was good. Career opportunities introduced themselves to me. Life became a Fourth-of-July fireworks show that entertained me long after the last spray of light bid its smokey and sulfurous adieu.

Whatever it is that creates us, it spins around us in slow motion, weaving us into the blanket that warms us.

Just have a good time. Nothing else matters, really...

"Anyone willing to put out the effort can pretty certainly get through college" is a fallacy.People like me can't even get into college.
The "Land of Opportunity" is a myth.
