So date night didn't go exactly as planned. Ferris and I went to dinner, but were so stuffed afterwards that we just came back home. It would have been nice to have more time out (and cheesecake!!), but oh well. Our food was very very good and we had a nice time together. That's all that matters ( Read more... )

While I have no doubt I will agree with you, because I am sure I feel the same, what are your reasons for not wanting to live in this dreaded state?

1- PennDot blows. I know that's a stupid reason, but it's a valid one.
2 - it doesn't seem like there are any decent & reasonably priced places to live. Real estate in this state (and Jersey) are so out of control that it would be hard to raise a family in a nice home
3 - It seems like if you don't live in one of the big cities (Philly, Hburg, A-town, Pburg) there's NOTHING. You went through that yourself so I know you agree with me on that.
4 - Also, if I'm not in a big city, I get strange "you're not from around here" looks that make me EXTREMELY uncomfortable. If Ferris and I get married and have children, I don't want our kids to go through that too.
5 - I'd like to get away from the snow for a little bit. I do love it, but it would be nice to move someplace where the winter low temperature is in the 40's.
6 - I just need a change, plain and simple. I've been in the Northeast for 25 years and it's time for something new. Hopefully graduate school will bring that.

I think each and every one of your reasons are very valid, and true.

Pennsylvania is terrible when it comes to the job market, pay scale, entertainment, etc. etc. etc. We're so far behind other areas that we may as well be another country.
