Re: Suikoden II, I completely understand. XD My expectations were so high when I played that game, and I was utterly disappointed in what it actually gave me. There are parts I still like, but mostly it feels like playing it was just wasted time.

I love V for the same reasons you're talking about here. I didn't get any of the bad endings though, because I'm a wimp. ;_; But I would imagine that, once the Prince served his purpose (rallying people to the Barrows cause and giving his deal with Armes a veneer of legitimacy), he would have no more use to either party. He was only a figurehead at the Barrows mansion. I don't think he would be much use in defeating his sister in that capacity.

Having not seen the ending though... I don't know. Just guessing!

Yeah! I was thinking that, as well, but I guess I'm asking because the ending goes something like this: Godwin is with Lym, and... I forget if Godwin is telling Lym what's going on, or if it's simply a messenger, but basically Lym is being told that her brother was murdered by the Barrows. With that piece of information, I would have thought that that would have given them more grief than if they simply had the Prince stick around until they were victorious. I mean, seriously; if you're going to do something under-handed like that, you need to make sure that sort of thing doesn't get out. Or else you have your ass handed to you by one vengeful little sister :D;.

Again, just my own confusion that I'm directing toward the Barrows' stupidity. But then again, knowing the Barrows, they really suck at keeping their dirty laundry from being found out by other people. And planning master schemes in general.

Wah~~!! Now I really want to play :o:o:o. I agree with what you said about IV, and on a more shallow note, I thought the character designs for IV were kind of boring. I know that shouldn't make or break a game, but it added to my lack of caring ^^;;. V looks awesome though...I should just break down and get it _o_.

You know what, I thought that too about IV! I didn't like the character designs NEARLY as much as in III; to be honest, I was really, really, uber upset that Ishikawa was replaced by Kawano when I first heard about IV. Sure, Junko Kawano's designs have really improved in IV since what she did for Suikoden I (the busts were always nice and nostalgic for me, but if you look at the original character designs she did... everyone is a little tilted when they are standing > o >;). But in III, I immediately fell in love with almost every single costume that graced the main characters (and it helped that the 3-D renderings were pretty effing detailed for 108 different characters). That, and I just love Fumi Ishikawa's sense of anatomy in III with her drawings: mm, Sasarai... Luc... so perfectly toned... ::heart ( ... )

he never does the final coloring
That is surprising, especially since the colors really make his designs o.o. He must have some sort of input on how it should look, right? Otherwise they need to credit someone else as well for the coloring ^^;;;.

I'm always running errands with my mom, but besides that I have no set schedule. I rented these Kurosawa films and I want to have a viewing sometime this week. Would you be interested?

Here's the actual interview (yay for sumarucity!):

I think the colorists are random people that they have at Atlus, from the sound of it. I have no idea if he has any imput at all on the final coloring, but it seems like he mainly focuses on the line drawings. Again, blows my mind, as the colors make so much of the personality of those character designs...

Ooooooo~!!!! Kurosawa~~~! ::squees!:: Yes, I'm available anytime this week, so just let me know what day is good for you (^o^). I'll probably give you a call sometime tomorrow.
