Yeah, you know the only problem with the new AHA guidelines? It's almost fucking impossible to do more than one compression per second.

Not impossible. Just not comfortable/borderline painful. I find chest compressions pretty exhausting anyway I look at it.

Hey hey, it doesn't say that the trained professionals shouldn't do the mouth to mouth anymore, it just says that untrained people do just as well to leave that part out. The worry that motivated this new notice was that people might just stand around doing nothing just because they're leery of mouth to mouth on strangers... Another fear is that over inflating the lungs will compress the heart and slow the circulation

heart > lungs

I for one do a technique that combines mouth to mouth with a little tongue for good measure... It revives people very quickly.

Oh I understand that. But in the hospital no one does mouth to mouth, they just start compressions, slam the code blue button, and yell for someone to bring a code cart which has the ambu bag on it. And I certainly would not consider a citizen with 2 or 3 CPR classes under their belts as trained professionals. I agree with you that the thing that they want people to do is "something" instead of just standing there. Most people do not do mouth to mouth correctly, and blowing air into the gut is actually the biggest waste of time during an emergency. Oh and just as some safe love... if there is blood coming from the mouth or if there are sores/wounds around the lips, it is better to skip the mouth to mouth for your own safety.

Cheers!
