Happy New Year!

Much to my disappointment, it looks like I am going to be working tonight. Never mind that I have already worked my required hours, and have requested to be let off. I approve of this New Year's Resolution wholeheartedly ;)

Ah, I remember that knockoff craze so very well. I admit to owning a version, but it's teeeeeeny tiny, cost maybe $3, and it's made with Swarovski crystal. Because I'm really too small to carry off large neck pieces too well anyway.

Man, they sold that Titanic necklace everywhere, on television, in my hospital gift shop, and in every department store I went in. Now there's a ring to match! I don't recall them selling replicas of Diana's ring when she was getting married, but they may have. Sidra was little and about all we were affording was baby stuff, I didn't go out and shop, and infomercials were in their infancy.

Now that's ONE thing about the 80's I'd happily bring back. :P

I remember the same insanity over Arwen's necklace from LOTR.

Yeah, Sidra's got a cheap knockoff of that *I* bought her, but I don't know that she's ever worn it.

They canceled me. I had let one of my bosses know how unhappy I had been with my holiday schedule. I reminded her that usually Paul and I went down to south Texas and did birdwatching and instead of raising hell that my schedule was changed, I just did it. Apparently they didn't need me on my unit, so miracles of miracles, I got off. I made sure to let them know that I didn't want to be paid for my time off, so it's not like I am screwing their budget. I'm thrilled. Paul's mother is in some sort of rehab in Austin and we need to go up there to visit in a couple of days. Nothing really serious, she's depressed.
