I went to the midnight showing of Iron Man 3 on Thursday night and before I get into the meat of the review/things I liked about it, I have to mention something. Shane Black, one of my favorite people and director of my favorite movie ever, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, seems to like to set his movies during Christmas. Finally someone on my f-list who has seen it LOL
I really, really loved it and yes, it was soooo much better than the 2nd one. Man, I couldn't stay till the end, what happened? Ugh. I hate these after credits scenes LOL
It was fresh, fun and the lines were gold. Loved the bits between Tony and the kid...haha, takes an annoying smart kid to know one ;-) The suits army, hell yeah. I was expecting that from the 1st time I heard over 40 marks.
And you know what else I loved: Robert Fucking Downey Jr ACTING! now THAT'S how you do it! He brings so much more to the movie <3

After the credits, you hear Tony finish the story he'd been telling in the opening narration and finally see that he was talking to Bruce Banner this entire time. And that Bruce got bored and dozed off right at the beginning. It's adorable. It's the return of the Science Bros.

Very nice review, and I'm so with you on it. I saw it on Tuesday (and will go again next week) and was entertained throughout. Very funny and witty, great action, and what they did with Pepper at the end was great (because I feared that she would simply have to be rescued by Tony, but then they turned it around and it was fantastic).

Everything with the kid in Tennessee was hilarious, and I also thought that they gave RDJ a lot of great stuff to act here (with the panic attacks and doubts, the witty dialogue, the interaction with children and fans and friends and villains - IDK if I simply don#t remember the other ones that well, but it seemed there was more range and depth to Tony's character).

Bowing to Shane Black. When I heard that he would be the new director, I was like, "Yay, no worries then!" - because his Lethal Weapon scripts were great, and KKBB is one of my favourite movies, because awesome.
