I keep wondering, if Sam decided so, would he be able to do the last Trial even now? And this is so perfect. I love the Dean voice. And Meg, and Adam. The aesthetic of the last few paragraphs is wonderful- especially that description of the Boyking...but yikes, poor Crowley. Heh, I also adore that this is just slightly not-gen, and the lovely art just slightly not-SFW, it adds to the mood of the fic.

Brrrrrr! Such a great story. The black spot bursting open in Dean's chest when Sam died. And then what Sam became with the wings and crown of thorns and horns. I love the bits about unshakable as dogma and Dean kissing his life goodbye. The end with Dean with his black eyes and car and endless night. The art is awesome too.

This was beyond delicious. I loved your vision of boy-king!sam and the part where Dean felt Sam's death just squeezed my heart. I wasn't surprised to see Meg but boy was I surprised to see Adam. So many people just forget about him so it was nice to see him pop up and be well taken care of by his big brother ;)

Loved the description of the blood rain, it was so eerie and when you add in the ghost town, it upped the creep factor nicely.

Your art is, as always, divine.

I love Dean best when he's a mourning smart ass. :D (And obviously, I hope eventually he will come to terms with what he's done in Season Nine and grow because of it. Though not necessarily in the way he does in my fic here, heh!)

Oh, Adam. Sweet Adam. Poor, poor unfortunate Adam. He will always be one of those characters the SPN writers drop like a hot potato because they felt his existence muddied things and jumped the ol' shark. And frankly, I'm not sure I could see John Winchester having this "secret family" that was his respite from hunting. But we still have Adam in canon so it's only fair we deal with him.
