Tebtosca's Voice Meme!

Apr 09, 2014 16:28

Criminy, it took me all day and an iffy wifi to finally get this to happen, but here it is, in all it's annoying glory:

Audio recording software >>

(I just listened back, forgive the UM's and UH's and the fact I was too close to the mic and sound like a rodent after a pack of Marlboros. Allergies.)

tebtosca, quickreaver is not a slacker, voice meme

larper! Heeee. I don't even really know what that is but it is such a funny word.

Love the slight grit in your voice. you and monica are so fandom-married. cuuuuute.

Emily Perkins is in denial LOL. That being said I kind of love that episode, heh.

Live Action Role Playing=L.A.R.P.

Did you see the episode LARP and the Real Girl? Yeeeeah. That's larping. *is still blushing furiously*

Emily Perkins was really sweet, though. In denial? Maybe! But actors have to find a way to make their character likeable, yanno? So maybe that was her tactic. Made me feel marginally better about that episode, heh!

Eh, I'm a bit of a ham, so it's not terribly hard. ;) It's more like improvisational theater for me. Rules? Bah! I just liked messing with people, in the skin of a different character. My first 'role' was that of a pregnant ghost; I wasn't playing the game per se, but providing plot. After the game, I took off the sympathy belly and one of the players came up to me and was all like, "Wait, you're not really pregnant? I thought you were getting all teary because you were really pregnant!"

It was stupid fun, though. We were all friends and enjoyed putting on a good show for each other. More cooperative than competitive. The people that "played the game TO WIN" didn't jive with our philosophy of "fuck with expectations." And I think it's one of the reasons I'm so into the behind-the-scenes stuff of SPN, your fanfilm, those kinda goodies! I've always dug creating worlds and adventures. Ah, the good old days of youth and tom foolery!

(And yep, Moni and I are seriously fandom wives. :D We laugh about that!)

Hee. The rodents around here just sorta squeak at you. No perceptive thoughts on fandom from their mousey little butts.

So you're LARP and the Real Girl! :D

And your comment re SPN's "Perfect Storm" of creator, actors, characters . . . I love this like WHOA. Lightning really was captured in a bottle there, and we are lucky for it.

. . . oh, you sweetie, thank you for the shout-out. (And now I realized that I got so excited about the vid, I forgot to mention favorite fanartists. Think on my feet, I cannot.) :*(

LOL, I made my comment before reading yours. Oops. No duplication meant.

Loved listening to you talk! And we have some background in common. (Washington D.C., Florida, a bit of a twang. :) I always wondered about your user name-glad to hear at least part of the story.

I wish I could do this, but not today. Maybe later tonight.

Yup, 'quickreaver' actually came from the name of my larping assassins's guild! ('Quick', as in 'quickening', a la Highlander, and 'reaver', as in 'one who harvests'.) My friend dreamed it up and I stole it. I wanted something androgynous for my on-line handle, so that I could get illustration jobs in the fantasy/scifi/horror genres that weren't just fairy art. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with fairy art, but 10 years ago, that's all the industry thought women could paint!

IT'S SUCH A BLAST. It makes everyone seem so tangibly close. <3 And it also kind of feels like watching the uncut edition of the best documentary ever, AKA the SPN Fandom Documentary.

And I did do it! If you want to listen, it's (6min)~
