You're entirely welcome! And, seriously, there is nothing I would have changed in this - it's beautifully balanced and never once slips over the edge into melodramatic, which is what makes the characters ring sso true...

Ah I feel that is a cruel hope you introduced there a the end; though really, the angels OWE Sam a life or two, don't they? He'd better be fully juiced and raring to go, that's all!!!

I love that you wrote most o it from Jody's POV, because her bearing witness to their changed states and in her Mom voice works really well. This one probably didn't make me snivel as much as lustmordred's Sam with cancer fic but it was shorter. A slow decline always seems much worse than a blaze of glory, doesn't it?

Yeah, I fully intended it to be a heart-breaker but man, I couldn't! The story just kept shrugging off the ennui I was trying to force upon it. So I stopped fighting. It had its own way, in the end. ;)

BUT! I am going to hunt down lustmordred's cancer!fic post-haste. YUM.
