I agree. What WAS all that about. Some of those girls I thought I knew suddenly turned into mean, sarcastic bitches for no apparent reason.
I was confused - they're not usually like that. Support used to be N. 1 in that forum and it's such a shame it seems to have nosedived. I don't comment or post there much anymore - but I still read.

It wasn't a matter of support. She insulted girls with ED's by saying that she bet that she was thinner than all of them. That's where everyone got angry. She also broke two rules - posting purging tips, and posting laxative tips.

I agree that it got out of hand and bitchy and could have been handled better, but I don't think the angry was unjustified. I've seen bitchier things go down (prompting me to leave at one point), but I'm also not going to say that she was a complete victim here. I guess she just didn't know any better.

Look, sweetie. I for one think that you didn't intend to stir up shit in the community, looking through your LJ you were probably just happy you got down to a new low weight. But if you've taken the time to read the posts on the purg properly, you'd realize that a) none of us are going to pat you on the back for losing more weight; b) most people dislike those who go on about switching from mia to ana and back again, as if it was something voluntary, a game....you're trivializing an eating disorder and that's quite disrespectful and ignorant; c) you're definitely NOT the tiniest in the comm. There are those who are at really, dangerously low weights. And d) we're not into "tips".

So I hope you understand why everyone sort of jumped on you. We give support but we don't cheer each other on to lose weight.

I posted in your last entry that losing weight isn't something to be happy about and I wasn't going to support you. You should've known to expect the same from the purg, which is filled with people just like me.
