how long can you fake it, girl?

Well I think heavy medication, early bedtime, and constant wearing of dorky mouthguard might've saved me. That and copious amounts of gin and relaxing hot baths. And not chewing anything all day. The Jaw is tired, yes, but not screaming in hideous agony as expected ( Read more... )

I wear a dorky mouthguard every night and have done so for a long time.

Fortunately I am the oldest sibling so I have no older sisters to torment me.

Nice, I wear mine every night too! I wear it during the day when my jaw is acting up though, and it's really very funny.

But I think you lucked out on the no older sisters. Granted, my brother tormented me too, in his little brother way... which might be something you're more familiar with. He deserved it, anyhow.

Dude, congrats on how stuff is going with the writing! Fingers staying crossed for you! And all these projects sound very intriguing.

As for the dental shit, man I feel you there. I'm gearing up to just bite the bullet and go in for my own dental makeover in a couple months.....after not having been to the dentist (and having atrocious dental care habits) since high school. It's one of those things where I just kept putting it off and it got so bad I was terrified of how much work needed to be done and how much it would cost and so I put it off some more, and now.....*sigh* just needs to be done.

So yes. I feel your pain.

And big sisters ARE The Devil. As I make sure to inform my own on a semi-weekly basis.

Yes, as you know all too well, even sideways progress can sometimes feel like progress when you're playing the awesome waiting game. (It's cruel too-- we're not a patient people, aspiring writers.) Next up, more queries! I know you love them!

I had years like that too-- just didn't see a dentist at all between the ages of 17 and 25 :/ And god, I hate flossing. HATE.

That's all right though, you're in good company with the constant reminding of how evil sisters are. Nick reminds me regularly as well :D

You know, on the bellybutton thing, while I have NO idea where you got it, at the same time, it sounds so very logical, it makes me wonder why *I've* never thought of it before???

But as a fellow eldest sibling, CONGRATS on the lifetime of traumatizing! LOL!

We live for the trauma. In a way it's rather gratifying to see that it's lasted so long. He'll be 24 this year. Damn we're good.

I don't know about the bellybutton thing either-- I'm starting to wonder if I made it up. And if I did, does that mean I was always this morbid?

Hmmm. Not sure I want to know though!

I'm sure you just made it up. I made up all sorts of things to traumatize my younger sibs. I don't remember them all now but they're things that just come to you in the moment. *woot for eldest privileges*

And I already told you congrats on the writing.

Man I wonder if I did, seriously. I was into horror and crap even as a kid... I wouldn't be shocked. I used to make up the craziest shit (some of which we still talk about every time we see each other) but that one is just ridiculous. That's what the little ones are for! Our trauma-inducing pleasure.

No idea on the tummybutton thing, but sounds like the good premise of a story.... *evil grin*

Then again, what doesn't... oh dear.
