I was actually just around the corner in the shadows with Cory, watching most of what was going on in the shrine through a broken slat in the wall that was large enough (if needed) to have passed the sword through and smuggle it away.
I give props to Alera for being brave and crazy enough to sneak with me and trust in my choice of path and my "Wait...wait..go now!" calls.
When the Honor Heros went to retrieve the Sword of Gavros, I brought Alera into the very dark woods to sneak behind enemy lines to enter the monestary, scouting ahead and giving the "all clear". Somehow Cory and Jozef made it there independantly, and they were able to have the sword released to them.
Also, thanks to you (and the rest of the people in the Caer Droiga pavillion) for offering me hot drinks every time you saw me as a vaguely friendly character. It was muchly appreciated, and probably kept me from hypothermia once or twice.
